Wine production at Mont du Toit is based on a traditional 'low-tech' approach. The entire Mont du Toit philosophy relies on the growing of the right grapes, keeping yields down, doing green harvesting and meticulously selecting only fully ripe fruit by hand during harvest time.

About Fundi wines

The entire South African wine industry has worked together with Wines of South Africa (WOSA) to create an innovative top quality wine brand, and ensure that 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this wine will be used to train more than 2 000 previously disadvantaged people as wine stewards by 2010, when South Africa will host the FIFA World Cup.

The wines selected for the Fundi range were tasted blind by the CWG panel and those who made it through the second rigorous selection process all scored a high rating. Consumers can buy Fundi wines confident in the knowledge that they are purchasing unique, quality wines selected for them by some of the country’s most experienced winemakers and that they’re contributing to a lasting legacy of hope. The wines specially selected for bottling under the Fundi label were produced by six different wineries.

The monthly wine tastings are every first Friday evening of the month and with a few including the third Friday of the month. We have created a special package for our wine connoisseurs to relax and enjoy the wine tasting and the surrounds. With no concerns about the long drive home, but to depart after a refreshing night’s sleep and a scrumptious Saturday brunch. 

Cost: R2900 per couple in luxury suite accommodation (including 6 course meal and 6 wine teasers, accommodation and Saturday brunch)
